Detroit Defense Wins $49.9 Million Army Contract to Integrate and Field Ground-System Data and Digital Logbook
Detroit Defense, based in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan, announced on November 2 that it has been awarded a four-year indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity Army contract with a $49.9 million ceiling to develop, integrate, field and sustain the Army's Data Integration for Ground Systems (DIGS) and Digital Logbook (DLB) capabilities.
According to the company's announcement via PR Newswire, the contract was awarded by Army Contracting Command–Detroit Arsenal through a competitive Commercial Solutions Opening and runs through September 2030. It covers continuous Digital Logbook software sustainment and DIGS and DLB integration on new and legacy platforms within the Combat Capabilities Development Command Ground Vehicle Systems Center's Software Engineering Center in Warren, Michigan, plus fieldings to U.S. and overseas locations including kitting, installation, new equipment training and field service representative support. Two task orders totaling about $8 million were issued at award, with initial work including fielding DIGS to more than 20 self-propelled howitzer battalions; a separate $1.6 million order will put DIGS on Army watercraft.
Separately, AR1, a joint venture of Detroit Defense and ACE Electronics, received a $1.66 million task order to deliver DIGS sets in 2027 for the Product Manager Army Watercraft Systems, covering landing craft, modular causeway systems and the Maneuver Support Vessel–Light, among other platforms. Nathan Clark, the company's senior vice president of Mission Systems, said the awards move DIGS and Digital Logbook from a proven capability to scaled fielding across Army artillery and watercraft formations.
